Jesus is condemned to die

The artist for this station was Amrit Kaur Singh who is from the Sikh tradition. The painting was produced by Amrit and her twin sister Rabindra, who was the artist for Station Ten; together they wrote and read the poem that accompanies the station. It describes the massacre of Sikhs at the temple in Amritsar in 1984.

“There was an outcry … ‘Away with him … crucify him!’ Their shouts prevailed and Pilate decided that they should have their way … and gave Jesus up to their will.”  Luke 23.18-25
