Jesus is laid in the tomb

The artist for this station was David Sparrow of the Christian tradition. The photographs are of the funeral of Vernon Richardson, with a recording of the traditional African-American spiritual ‘Steal Away’ by his mother Mrs Evelyn Richardson who originally sang it at the funeral.

“Then Joseph laid Him in a  tomb cut out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the entrance. Mary of Magdala and Mary the mother of Joseph were watching and saw where he was laid.” Mark 15.46,47
