Flor Kent
Flor was born in Caracas in Venezuela, training as a dentist in Caracas and Chicago before undertaking an MA in site-specific sculpture at Wimbledon School of Art in London. In 2003 she created an installation, in partnership with the Museum of London and the Imperial War Museum, for Liverpool Street Station. The work, which was supported by the Jewish Community, was Für das Kind, which recalled the children of the Kindertransport who travelled from Berlin to safety in London and arrived at that station. The piece comprises a suitcase – shaped glass case, containing items that some of the children brought with them to the UK. Alongside is a small bronze figure of a child. Flor has had a number of major exhibitions and installations worldwide.
